Volunteer
CFA is primarily volunteer operated. We depend on the dedication of animal welfare advocates in the community to keep our programs running smoothly. Our volunteers utilize a variety of skills to meet the needs of our clients, and volunteer hours at CFA can be used for High School credits, Community Service hours, or as work experience for a resume.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Pet Food Bank
The weekly CFA Pet Food Bank is organized each Tuesday, with individual orders pulled for recipients and their pets. Pet Food Bank Volunteers work directly with CFA Board President Jeff Martin to check for recalls, organize donations, and prepare orders for onsite pick up and delivery to our Grays Harbour Mobile Food Bank locations.
Single shift on Tuesdays. Must be able to kneel, stand, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Reception
CFA operates by call in, which means our Reception Volunteers are the first point of contact for pet parents in crisis mode. These volunteers discuss hard situations with owners, verify that they qualify for assistance, and issue vouchers or sign up owners for the Pet Food Bank. Variety of shifts available. Must be able to operate a phone, computer, and communicate clearly.
Data Entry
Like all nonprofits, CFA keeps record of our operation. Data Entry Volunteers help us track these records by organizing and digitizing physical documents, entering information into our CRM system, and letting us know if something looks off. Shifts can be flexible. Must be able to operate a computer, custom software, and interpret information.
Events
Throughout the year, CFA puts on multiple fundraising events that volunteers can take part in. Volunteers can assist with the Mother's Day Market/Plant Sale, the Spring Fling Garage Sale, Toast for Tails, or with Pop-Up Food Drive Fundraisers at local businesses. Each event has specific needs - visit the Events page to see more details!
Cat Care
CFA's Adoption Program primarily works with young kittens rescued from feral colonies. These cute bundles of fluff depend on our Cat Care Volunteers to provide clean litter boxes, fresh water and food, and an endless supply of socialization and care. Daily morning and afternoon shifts available. Must be able to kneel, stand, lift up to 25 lbs, and utilize cleaning supplies.
